Resumen
This article analyzes the way in which the theories developed by J. Piaget, L. S. Vigotski and H. Maturana can be understood as constructivists. The main idea is that there are two different ways of constructivism, the cognitive type (Piaget, Vigotski) and the radical type (Maturana). This conception contrasts with the idea of a single kind of constructivism in psychology (Rosas & Sebastian, 2001). Both perspectives can be distinguished according to their position about the intentionality of consciousness. This idea leads to a critical view of radical constructivism and to the conclusion that only cognitive constructivism is psychologically acceptable.
