This paper poses that in order to find out the meaning of an education on values, it is necessary to start by reconsidering the very concept of education, since this concept and education on values, constitute an undivisible whole. Values are considered lo give guidance and sense to man’s life, from a sociological and anthropological, psychological-humanistic approach. Therefore, education, because of its formative nature, cannot ignore them –even more– it must explicitely and planned assume them. Finally, because of its responsibility to the student, some reflections related to education on values and some problems from the student’s point of view, that mut be assumed, are presented.
