Curricular and Educational Project of William Kilpatrick School

Resumen

This article is about the development of the educational and curricular plan of the William Kilpatrick School. It analyzes how the plan was developed, it prevents its characteristics, the difficulties and achievements and its future perspectives. The William Kilpatrick School was founded en 1979, in Las Condes commune. This school has nursery, elementary and high school, it emphasizes on the personal development of students, along with the academic requirements and excellence. Because its humanistic principles, it is not selective and respects the diversity of the students and offer a democratic participation for students, teachers and parents in order to keep alive an educational community, the participants of wich may organize to achieve the educational goals and put into everyday practice the values and principles of the school.  Its staff has been prepared in agreement with the ideas of the school, through constant studies and its challenge is to produce an innovative way of teaching, respecting the student’s needs, social and cultural changes; integrating traditional and modern methods, balancing pleasure and effort, instruction and educational formation, individualization and socialization.
