Resumen
This article is about one of the human being’s basic necessiteies: their feeding. On the base of the fertile satirical press, it shows how and what the Chileans used to eat around the 1900, both elite and common people. Together whit exploring the flavors and aromas of the most representative dishes, there is an approach to the sociability that was generated around the food altogether whit a long duration problem like alcoholism. In such a sense, it a social history of the feeding that contibutes interesting indications of the diet costums on the chilean urban society of this time
