Summary
Abstract: The author analyzes the text of Adversus Haereses V, 1-14, which forms a specific unit and presents its content grouped by topics marked with small caps, such as The Father's hands, The Spirit and the weakness of the flesh, etc. . He tries to make Irenaeus's text resonate, being as faithful as possible to it, even though he constantly repeats it, as Irenaeus repeats. In the economy, which extends from creation to final consummation, the Spirit is the salvation of the flesh, thanks to the incarnation of Christ. In anti-heretical polemic, it is the carnal, and not the flesh, who will not inherit the kingdom.
Keywords: Irenaeus, image and likeness, flesh and Spirit, incarnation, Trinitarian economy, resurrection.
