Summary
Joaquín Larraín Gandarillas was a 19th century educator. He believed that every professional had to be integrally formed because of her/his human condition. Therefore, he designed an educational system that had included both intellectual will and feelings formation. While elementary school was similar to all social groups, high school prepared students to choose professions within economic, scientific, technical, and humanistic areas. As a priest and citizen of a catholic nation, Joaquín Gandarillas assumed both moral and religious formation.
