Summary
The purpose of this study was to evaluate some aspects of the Nurse-Midwife curriculum, through the opinion of the graduates, nine years after its implementation. The study unit is the professional nurse-midwives graduated from the School of Nursing of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. The Universe is made up of professionals who graduated between 1984 and 1987 and who were working in the city of Santiago and its surroundings. Information is obtained from 70 nurse-midwives who graduated from the School in this period and who represent 32,11% of the Universe The study group is made up of 25,71% of registered nurse-midwives with 14 months and less and those with 15 to 36 months of qualification who represent 74,2 % of the sample. This article analyzes the results of two variables related to the preparation obtained by both groups during their university professional studies and refer to the knowledge and psychomotor skills to face professional tasks and ethical-Catholic training.
