Summary
The potential of new media, the explosion of information in networks and the emergence of a consumer of information that does not comply with passively absorbing content, has promoted changes in journalism, including a critical stage for its survival. These impacts do not occur only in the technical aspect of the profession, but it is also necessary to assess how journalistic ethics are changing. In order to do this, we evaluate four Brazilian ethics documents, in order to extract their basic values. Furthermore, we observed three Brazilian examples of how the media have sought new regulations for journalism in new media and social networks. The results allow identifying guidelines to adjust journalism to contemporary ethical challenges.
