The ethnocentric information or the so-called intercultural misunderstandings, which affect the view of other cultures, are present in the journalistic construction. This article raises a reflection on how the media or, more specifically, the work of the journalist builds other cultures. It will be seen that he generally does so in an incomplete way, appealing to simplifying, reductionist and even stigmatizing stereotypes: the other, by the fact of being so, is deficient. Here are proposed different ways to promote an "intercultural journalism".
