Summary
In 2003, a team of professors from the School of Journalism took an important step in validating the instrument for measuring journalistic added value (VAP). With funding from Fondecyt1, this tool – the VAP-UC file – was reviewed and perfected through the comparison of Chilean newspapers and television news programs with foreign reference media. In addition, the study variables were discussed and analyzed in focus group work to understand their applicability from the perspective of the public, journalists and editors.
