Connected Television: Advantages and Disadvantages of the HbbTV Standard

The assimilation and interaction between television and the Internet has grown significantly in recent years, increasing the penetration of the connected and hybrid television, until the HbbTV (Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV) standard appeared. In this article we analyze the keys to this standard and make a quantitative study on its implications for the audience in terms of quality of content, synergies between the Internet, television and social networks, inclusion of interactive advertising and other parameters of the new scenario.
