Summary

This article presents Jane Vella's adult education model and its impact in Chile. This model originates from Dr. Vella's educational experiences in Africa and has been refined with its application in different settings in different countries, from the community to the university. This is an eclectic method based on various psychological, anthropological and educational theories from which she integrates principles and practices into a harmonious and meaningful whole. The method enables to plan, design, execute and evaluate effective learning processes in the most different spaces, with learners and facilitators from the most diverse origins, while preserving the axis of the process: caring for people in their dignity and freedom. Perhaps that is the reason for its success.
