On May 15th 2000, Radio Chilena Solonoticias made its appearance on air. It was the first Chilean media providing real-time news 24 hours a day the novelty of the project spread enthusiasm between journalism and industry players. Two years later, however, the radio station was going through difficult times and a new director, Jaime Moreno Laval, was hired to resolve the crisis. This case-study, designed to encourage discussion inside the academia, is an example of how any media have to conciliate its journalistics projects with the needs of the industry.
