Erlebnis y Erfahrung (vivencia y experiencia) en Edith Stein

The distinction betwen Erlebnis and Erfahrung is central in the phenomenology regarding the contents of consciousness, and is relevant to the understanding of the steinian contribution in general. They are translated by lived experience and experience itself respectively, but beyond its literal translation, the objective of this article is to contrast, in a philosophical key, some interpretations emerged on the way in which Stein understands the distinction and relationship between those words. After analyzing the entries of Erfahrung and Erlebnis, it is concluded that, in the philosophy post-Stein conversion, there is a predominant use of Erfahrung versus Erlebnis. The article investigates such distinctions and suggests that their meanings and use wich Stein do, may contribute to studies on mysticism.
