Evaluation of Clínica! Hospital of Catholic University as Mother and Child Breastfeeding Friendly Hospital: 11 years of history

This scud y is an evaluation of 11 years of crajectory of che Clinic Hospital of Cacholic Universicy of Chile, and sorne ambulacory healch cencers, acrediced by UNICEF as Mocher and Child Breascfeeding Friendly Hospital. To achieve che objectives, nurse midwifes reorganized che Breascfeeding Committee and develop  an  evaluacion process chrough supe rvision of acciv icies, audit repor cs, app lied surveys to interna] personnel and  made incerviews wich hospicalized mochers. The 10 sceps recomme nded for UNICEF chac improves breascfeeding and maternal child bond, were evaluaced. Based in findings, we conclud e chac chroug h chese 11 years, we obcained bonding praccice in a 100% of che child birchs wi chouc risk and remarkable efforc. Posiciv e personnel disposicio n in scimul ace breascfeeding precociously. Weakness of che program is relaced to  che absence of  wriccen  policies, quali ficacion of person nel in che area, che use of art ificial hid racacion in che nursery ac che hospi tal, incomple ce repoccs and reference co och er professionals, and absence of feedback becween che ambu lacory and hospicalizacion syscems. The auchors propose a program crough 3 yea rs to surpass chese weaknesses.
